Moignes Court is easily reached by road.
From London, the South East and areas north of London - Head south-west via the M3, then take the M27/A31 towards Ringwood and Dorchester, continuing on the A35 towards Dorchester before following signs towards Wareham and Owermoigne.
From Bristol, Bath and the Midlands - Head south via the M5/A37 towards Yeovil and Dorchester.
From Devon, Cornwall and the South West - Follow the A30/A38 east before joining the A35 towards Dorchester. Once you reach Dorchester, follow the A352 towards Wareham and turn off for Owermoigne.
on foot or by bus
We are wonderfully placed for walkers exploring the Dorset countryside and Jurassic Coast. The South West Coast Path passes through Ringstead Bay, around an hour’s walk from Moignes Court via the surrounding countryside, making us a lovely inland stopping point for walkers wanting to explore a little beyond the coast. Public buses also serve Owermoigne, connecting the village with Weymouth, Dorchester and surrounding villages, so it is possible to reach us without a car. We recommend checking the current Dorset bus timetable before travelling as services can vary seasonally.
By Train
Our nearest station is Moreton (Dorset), just a few minutes’ drive from Moignes Court.
Moreton is on the direct South Western Railway line between London Waterloo and Weymouth, with journeys from London taking around 2 hours 40 minutes. When travelling from London, make sure your train is one that stops at Moreton, as some faster Weymouth services pass through without stopping. From Moreton station,
Moignes Court is approximately a 5-minute taxi ride or a 45-minute walk away. Please note that Moreton is a small rural station with no taxi rank, so taxis must be booked in advance.
by plane
For visitors arriving from further afield, Southampton Airport is particularly convenient as Southampton Airport Parkway station is immediately beside the terminal and sits on the same main railway route towards Dorset. Trains run towards Weymouth, with Moreton (Dorset) on this line, making onward travel straightforward. Bournemouth Airport is another good option and connects by bus to Bournemouth railway station, from where you can travel west towards Moreton. London Heathrow offers the widest choice of international flights, with onward rail or coach connections towards Dorset.
